I would say not. Generally, wheel speed sensors work without the mod: it's just a case of setting the thresholds up correctly in SCal.

Thanks Tim

Sorry for all the questions!

I am currently picking up my 2 wire wheel speed sensors using bipolar
These are lotus/Vauxhall wheel packs

Not sure if I would need your hardware mod to pick these sensors up?

Cheers

Hi Tim

Can you confirm that I can use the 4 additional inputs along side the motion sensor data (lateral/longitudinal/vertical G and yaw/pitch/roll). On the S6 GP ?

Kind regards

Thanks Tim
It’s being used on a Syvecs 6GP so hopefully won’t be too much of an issue.

I will be wanting to use it for the four wheel speed inputs, GPS, and the yaw sensors etc, for aiding traction control

Thanks for the info

Kind regards

There are various ways it can be used, with varying degrees of complexity.

If it's used as a generic GPS unit on a Life Racing or Syvecs ECU then it is just a case of setting the ECU to expect GPS data, and the MEU to transmit it (a simple checkbox).

If it's used in Syvecs/Life Racing "Slave mode" (so it behaves as an I/O expander) then some manual configuration of the ECU to receive the data is needed - all explained in the User Guide.

On a Link G4+ or any other ECU it needs manual set up of the ECU to receive the data in the right way, and each ECU type will have its on peculiarities as to what can be set up or not.

And we're always here to assist.

V1.40 did not seem to sort this issue and further investigation revealed that the CAN definitions for the Syvecs were not 100% correct.

Grabbing the file from the downloads section of this site and applying it to the CAL - problem solved :)

In reply to <a href="https://jti.uk.com/toucan/parts/#comment-793">paul</a>.

There have been some issues with LC indication with it getting broken, then fixed, then broken again, in versions between V1.30 and V1.35. There is a new version V1.40 available that - we hope! - puts this issue to bed.
